NEW HFJ OFFICE!
Hello faithful friends and supporters of Hookers For Jesus!
We have a great & exciting announcement! We are going to be moving into a brand new Hookers For Jesus office this week. We have graciously been donated this office space by Valley Bible Fellowship. We are so thankful and happy that VBF has a heart to help out our organization as we reach out to the ladies of Las Vegas!
We are in need of a few office items as we get situated. If you know of anyone that would like to donate these items or make a charitable contribution twoards them, please contace us at donations@hookersforjesus.net
1. Imac desktop computer or a Mac Book Pro laptop
Dell PC computer all in one Inspirion desk
(Both can be used!)
2. Lexmark Printer Pro 901 model (new not used because of dried ink issues)
3. 2 rolling black comfortable data entry chairs (for high volume computer work)
4. Black Lateral lockable filing cabinet
Now that we have this new office base, we will be able to have a solid place where ladies can apply for immediate needs in person and get help, as well as meet others in social services or ministries who are interested in Hookers For Jesus for connecting, training & outreach purposes.
Speaking of needs, we do have heart wrenching but truly amazing stories to share with you--of a few ladies we are currently working with:
LYNN: Running away from an abusive home when she was 14, Lynn was immediatly sex trafficked the very first week she hit the streets. Looking for love in all the wrong places, she fell into numerous arms of various men who masked themselves as boyfriends but were actually ruthless guerilla pimps. After years of beatings, running the streets and prostituting, we got a call from Lynn one night from a phone booth, asking us if we would help her change her life. She gave her heart to God! And we witnessed a sincere change and healing in her heart. We have since been in her life for the past 3 years, and during that time have watched God do amazing things for her and re-uniting her with her immediate family.
But now Lynn is facing a life and death challenge, for she is currently battling fourth stage cancer and staying in a treatment re-hab facility here in Las Vegas. We want to ask for prayer for healing, and that all her needs are met as she goes through chemo and radiation. We also want to bless her with whatever we can provide for her during this difficult time. Here are her needs:
1. Target gift card for tolietries & comfy clothes for her treatments.2. Phone cards (monthly) for her cell to keep in touch with friends and family
Would you agree with us in prayer for Lynn for her healing, and that her immediate needs be met? I have gone through cancer treatment, and know what it feels like to not have immediate needs met while I was attempting to heal. It is scary to say the least. Would you please help us help her?
MISSY: Missy came from a home where her father was a strict military disciplinary. She grew up being raised soely by her father and part time by her aunt, as her mother took off when she was only two. Her father was very controlling, physically & verbally abusive. When she finally moved out as a teen, she met a boy who told her that he loved her and wanted to take her away from the controlling lifestyle of her father. What she didn't know was that he was an undercover pimp! Soon Missy starting exotic strip dancing in the club, which eventually led her to working as a prostitute in the escort services. Against her will, she succombed and gave every dime to her pimp. She later realized that she was being controlled and abused, just like she was when living with her father.
Then Missy became pregnant with her daughter, and knew her life needed to change. Depressed, shamed and stuck with no where to go, she prayed for deliverance. She had her beautiful daughter, and finally had enough courage to leave her pimp and start a new life. We met Missy in Las Vegas when she called us, asking us for support and help as she transitioned out of the sex trafficking lifestyle. Meeting Missy and her daughter was such an amazing experience because of her willingness to change her life so that her daughter could have a life she never had a chance to live!
Missy will be getting her own apartment next week, and we want to bless her with her and her daughters new apartmemt. We are asking for your help as she moves in and starts looking for a job. Here are her needs:
1. Bus card (monthly) $65.002. Cell phone card (Metro PCS) $52.003. Furniture: Adult bed and childs bed with accessories. Dresser, kitchen table and chairs, etc.
Would you help us help Missy with her brand new start in her and her precious daughters life? You will be not only saving one lady from sex trafficking, but helping her beautiful daughter as well!
Lastly, we have a couple of ladies who have been out of the sex trafficking lifestyle for a little while, of whom are working towards their transition and healing, of which many of them are single mothers. They could really use a break as they work their new jobs and save money for their own places to raise their children apart from the abusive fathers. We are in sincere need of:
1. Gas cards 2. Bus passes $65.00 each (monthly) 3. Food cards (Walmart, Smiths, Albersons etc) 4. Toiletry items: dipers, shampoos, lotions, etc. (Target or Walmart cards)
Anything that you can give with any of the above needs--will surely help us help these beautiful ladies! Even if it is 5, 10 or $20!
