![]() ![]() 1. We will “love one another” as Christ has loved us (John 13:34). Jesus is not only present in us (John 15:4) He is present in those around us (Matt. 25:40). We will live and minister as if this is true. We will model the unity and love we are teaching. 2. We exist to instruct, develop and encourage each member in the development of efficacy skills in ministering to the wounded. Our attitude and tone will be one of gentleness and tenderness (a sensitivity to emotions – the feelings of others). 3. Our first task is to lead others into an encounter of the merciful love of our redeeming Father. They will experience Him through us – we are His hands, feet, eyes, and mouth. We will be extravagant lovers of God. 4. We are here to learn from each other and will bring a humble and teachable spirit to the ministry (Proverbs 12:15). 5. We will utilize constructive and positive illustrations that inspire and create hope. We will consistently protect the identity and confidentiality of our members. 6. We will remain sensitive to others’ shame. Remembering, those who have been deeply wounded are easily triggered in their own shame. As we speak to the best of who God has created them to be, they will become that man or woman (Proverbs 12:18). 7. We will relate to every man, woman or child who comes through our door with the deepest level of dignity that we know this side of heaven. They will see themselves worthy of love as they experience our love and grace. This is one of the most powerful counter-forces to shame. We will be known for this and will corporately love, live and minister in this way (John 4:7-9). 8. Our emphasis is restorative and one of healing. We will not just love in word only, but in truth and in deed (I John 3:18). Hookers for Jesus exists to serve the many people who live on the fringes of society and do not have access to healing resources. 9. We will be authentic and transparent. RETURN to ABOUT US |
