![]() Bill Young – Former Sheriff of Las Vegas Bill Young began his career with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department as a Patrol Officer in 1979. In 1984, he was promoted to sergeant and his assignments included Patrol, Field Training, and SWAT. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1986 and served in Patrol, as Operations Manager of the Communications Center, and in Vice and Narcotics. (Incidentally, Mr. Young was responsible for the majority of arrests for which Ms. Lobért was charged with solicitation during her years working as a prostitute and escort in Las Vegas.) In 1995, Mr. Young was promoted to captain and commanded the Support Services Bureau, overseeing the Resident Officer Program, K-9, Air Support, and Search and Rescue. In 1999, he was promoted to deputy chief in charge of the county jail and took over as the deputy chief for the Special Operations Division in 2001. He has served on the SWAT team and in Vice/Narcotics. In 2001, he took over as the Deputy Chief for Special Operations Division. He was sworn in as Sheriff of Las Vegas in January of 2003 and served in that role until his retirement in 2007. Mr. Young’s professional accomplishments include receiving commendations from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for serving as a crisis negotiator for 12 years, having negotiated more than two hundred incidents. He also received commendations for leading a team of department members who did an in-depth analysis and recommended revisions to the department's recruitment, hiring and training processes. In early 2007, Mr. Young started his second career working with Station Casinos, Inc. as the corporate vice president of security. In this position, Mr. Young will oversees the security and surveillance departments and its 630 team members for the Company’s 16 properties in Southern Nevada. Mr. Young’s professional affiliations include membership in the Western States Vice Investigators Association, membership in the International Outlaw Motorcycle Gang Investigators Association, membership in the Southern Police Institute Association, participation in Leadership Las Vegas (class of 2000), and participation as Chairman of the Police Managers and Supervisors Association (PMSA), 1995-1998, additionally serving as Trustee for the PMSA Employee Benefit Trust. Mr. Young is a fourth-generation native Nevadan, he was born in Yerington and moved to Las Vegas as a child, where he currently resides. He is a vital member of the Hookers for Jesus team and serves as Board Member and Community Liaison.
Annie Lobért is an internationally known expert and advocate of ministry to men and women in the sex industry. As founder of Hookers for Jesus, she provides the vision for the organization. As key spokesperson, Ms. Lobért is ideally positioned to network, establish, and reinforce relationships in the sex industry nationwide in order to provide men and women with the guidance and direction needed to successfully transition out of destructive lifestyles and unhealthy behavioral patterns. Ms. Lobért is recognized nationwide for her expertise and knowledge of the sex industry. Having survived over 11 years working as a prostitute and high-class escort in Las Vegas, Ms. Lobért knows first hand the harmful affects that a life in the adult entertainment industry can have on a person. Ms. Lobért is frequently sought out by business leaders, television media, publishers, educators, clergy, policy makers, and law enforcement officials for her expertise on the adult entertainment industry, along with solutions for reaching men and women trapped in an unending cycle of sexual trauma and abuse. Various organizations worldwide are effectively utilizing Ms. Lobért’s inside view and background of the sex industry to assist in educating the public and stirring the community to action regarding sexual addiction and pornography. The end result ensures healthier communities and healthier lives. Additionally, Ms. Lobért has been interviewed by many leading local, national, and international publications, as well as radio and television news programs. Ms. Lobért offers her testimony and message of grace and redemption in and out of the church and effectively ministers to the men and women whose lives have been negatively affected by and within the sex industry. Beyond the ministry side of the organization, Ms. Lobért has developed the business and interpersonal skills necessary to lead Hookers for Jesus. In addition to her role as Founder and President, she serves as Executive Director for the organization. Ms. Lobért is a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota and resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cindy Nelson – Vice President and Director of Development As Director of Development, Cindy Nelson leads our strategic planning and business development efforts. Ms. Nelson effectively presents the vision of the organization and its focus on reaching out to men and women involved professionally and as consumers in the adult entertainment industry. Ms. Nelson’s personal background includes first-hand knowledge of the sad realities and the devastating effects of sexual trauma and exploitation linked to pornography. She recognizes and acknowledges unhealthy behavioral patterns and involvement in the sex industry as mere manifestations of deeper issues. It is her desire to minister to the heart of the men and women caught up in this industry and looking for a way out of the darkness. In 1999, she co-founded one of the first sex industry ministries in the United States, based in the northwest. During that time, she effectively linked arms with Citizens for Community Values and the National Coalition for the Protection of Children and Families, both of which are based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. During this time, she organized victim assistance conferences; developed community awareness and outreach programs; and testified before city and county legislative branches and committees regarding the secondary harmful affects of pornography. Ms. Nelson’s professional background includes a successful career in human resources and organizational development, specializing in facilitating team-based training classes. She has also utilized her background in providing ministry team consulting services with various faith-based organizations throughout the western United States. Her expertise in areas of business management and nonprofit development include program planning and organizational development. Throughout the past several years, Ms. Nelson has honed her general business skills as a nonprofit business consultant. She has worked with over 20 organizations, providing research and analysis, in order to develop successful marketing and business plans. Additionally, Ms. Nelson has organized training seminars and participated in Christian education conferences nationwide. In addition to her interest and pursuit in Christian ministry, Ms. Nelson is active in a variety of community and charitable organizations. Over the past several years, her community involvement has included working with the Alexis de Tocqueville Society, where she focused on executive networking and funding development. In 1999, the City of Spokane recognized her with the Character First Pillar of Faith Award. She was a founding member of the strategic planning committee of the Washington State Mental Health Transformation Project. In 2007, as a result of her dedication and commitment to community service, Ms. Nelson was awarded with the prestigious Washington State Governor’s Service Excellence Award. In April of 2007, she resigned her commission and membership serving on both the Executive Advisory Council and Strategic Planning Board under the auspices of the Health and Recovery Services Administration of the State of Washington. She is now serving in full-time ministry with Hookers for Jesus. Ms. Nelson oversees the business side of Hookers for Jesus and functions in the role of Vice President and Executive Director of Development. Additionally, she provides support for "Saving Sex City," which is a joint media project between Hookers for Jesus and JCs Girls.
